New visual work exhibited at UNSUNGfest
“UNSUNGfest is a full day arts festival celebrating the arts of Manchester, transmitting the wealth of Manc talent to the stage with every outlet catered for, including interactive poetry performances, art exhibitions, prose readings, live music and much much more!”
I’ve been asked to show some work by local poet and conceptual artist Michael Wilson, who is curating the exhibition for the festival.
This is the first showing for my Magical Worlds of Melody group of objects. Three of the pieces will be on display: Magical Worlds of Melody, a record sleeve college with rust; Gift (pictured above), a record with nails; and Dirt Record, a record with dust and dirt. (More info on the Works page of the site.)
As part of the festival there is a “Meet The Artists” section, an informal introduction to each of the pieces by their creators. Also showing are Michael Wilson, Louise Woodcock, Maya Chowdhry, Amy Pennington and Fraser Chapman.
The exhibition is showing on Saturday 29th May only and a ticket is required for entry, available from here.
