WALL OF DRONE
THE PROPHETIC SOUND: A DAY AND NIGHT OF NOISE CABARET
Thursday 7th February 2013
The Cavendish Arms, 128 Hartington Rd, Stockwell, SW8 2HJ: http://goo.gl/maps/PN7fx
3PM – MIDNIGHT, ADMISSION £5
AAS Performance will start some time after 10pm
AAS use ritual scores in audio performances that summon an eternal drone, something outside of time, that brings change when we tune into it. Repetition and layers of sound induce a meditative, trance like state, allowing us to tap into irrational possibilities. Sound is used to affect us on many levels, to suggest mythologies and call forth potential futures.
The place and those present activate the mood and content of the performance, which exists in the space between the audio produced and the imagination of those who receive it. These chance encounters and found material are part of a divination process, an active prophesy, where the future is created not predicted.
