“Holon Music” performance for Symphony Of Hunger: Digesting Fluxus In Four Movements

On Thursday 24th September I’m playing at A+A Gallery in Venice for the opening of a new exhibition, Symphony Of Hunger: Digesting Fluxus In Four Movements. I’ve written a new fluxus-style score for the performance, called Holon Music, the title of which comes from Arthur Koestler’s concept as outlined in Ghost in the Machine. I’ll use turntable, modified records and electronics in a Rhythm and Drone set, which I will perform four times throughout the opening.

The modified records I use in the performance will become part of the exhibition the following day. There’s also a publication for the exhibition which will include some writing about the thinking behind the score.

The exhibition and opening events are organised by Curatorial Studies, The School for Curatorial Studies, Arts and Communication. Full details on their website.
