What role do vinyl and turntables play today?
How can their popularity be understood in the context of the analogue renaissance in recent years? And what is their future in the digital age? The “Dual Sessions” approach these and related issues in a multidisciplinary format, bringing together economics, science, art, music and pop culture. We believe that in engaging in a topic so closely linked to these varied cultural practices, performances and artistic expression are just as valuable as lectures and discussions. We therefore seek to provide a comprehensive inventory, creating a platform allowing to tap into/achieve new ways of addressing the topic. There would be hardly a place better suited to/for this than the town of St. Georgen, Black Forest, where the Dual brand originates and local history ties in seamlessly with the heyday of the German phono industry.
