Archway Sound Symposium
This Saturday 13th July I’m performing at Archway Sound Symposium, doing an interpretation of Jenifer Walshe’s score THIS IS WHY PEOPLE O.D. ON PILLS. The score calls for the performer to immerse themselves in skateboarding, its culture and physicality. As a former skater myself I’ve enjoyed delving back into the scene, watching lots of videos and even a bit of Tony Hawks’ Pro Skater 2 computer game, which I’ve spent many hours on.
You can read the whole score by downloading the PDF from here: https://www.cmc.ie/music/why-people-od-pillsand-jump-golden-gate-bridge
I’m sharing the bill with Rita Evans and Rowland Hill, artists working with sound, sculpture and performance, who are each interpreting other graphic scores.
