New release: Music By The Metre Archive Two, cassette and download
Out now on Falt Tapes is a selection of six automated recordings, made using looping record players, synth drone, live environmental sound and tape loops; sounds that would play continuously once started. The results were recorded to whole spools of tape, edits from which form the recordings.
The project is an audio homage to Situationist Giuseppe Pinot Gallizio’s “Industrial Painting”: music which is always the same but always different, can be started and stopped at any point and played for any duration. Music designed to be sold off the peg and measured by the metre.
